Staff Resources
Wake Forest University is committed to creating and maintaining an environment that attracts and retains world-class faculty and staff. To accomplish this, the University understands the need to offer services, resources and support that range from competitive compensation and benefits to professional and personal development opportunities. As a result, the Human Resources Department has partnered with internal and community resources to offer beneficial information and services to faculty and staff.
A brief description of these services includes:
- Financial Planning Services offers a variety of resources for families that need assistance with budgeting and debt management. WFU's partnership with several local banking institutions enables the University to provide these services free of charge. In addition, financial planning classes and consultation services are offered through the Professional Development Center. The course descriptions and schedules can be found at PDC classes.
- Counseling Center is available to faculty and staff to address individual and family concerns that may be best met with professional assistance. The Employee Assistance Program and the University Chaplain are both resources available to provide these services confidentially and free of charge, as well as to make referrals to other community resources as needed.
- Family Services will offer several resources for those experiencing financial or personal crises. These agencies also have volunteer opportunities for those interested in giving back to the community.
- The Transportation Services initiative will provide information on current services that exist in Winston-Salem and the Triad. There are links to the local transportation agencies such as the Winston-Salem Transit Authority and Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation (PART), which offer many different types of services to meet individual commuting needs, including car and van pooling information.
